This Privacy Policy explains how Atomic Van (“Atomic Van,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit atomicvan.com (the “Site”). It doesn’t cover our products, Slidebit and Pingstack. Each of them has its own privacy policy.

Information we collect

Information you give us

When you use the contact form, we collect what you submit:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your company name, if you include it
  • The topic you pick and the contents of your message

We use this information only to reply to you and to keep a record of our conversation. We don’t add you to a mailing list.

Information collected automatically

The Site is hosted on GitHub Pages. When you visit, GitHub’s servers may log technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. GitHub handles that data under the GitHub General Privacy Statement.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t store anything in your browser, and doesn’t follow you across other websites. We see only totals, such as page views, referring sites, countries, and browser and device types. We can’t use it to identify you.

Cookies and browser storage

The Site doesn’t set cookies.

If you choose Light or Dark with the theme switch, your browser remembers that choice in its local storage on your device. It never leaves your browser, and you can clear it at any time by choosing Auto or clearing your browser’s site data.

Our fonts are hosted on the Site itself, so loading a page doesn’t send your information to a font provider.

How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • Reply to messages you send through the contact form
  • Keep the Site running, secure, and free of abuse
  • Understand, in total, how people use the Site so we can improve it
  • Meet our legal obligations

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Service providers we use

These companies process information for us so we can run the Site:

  • GitHub hosts the Site.
  • Formspree receives contact form submissions and delivers them to us.
  • Cloudflare provides our cookieless analytics.

Each of them receives only the information it needs to do its job, and may use it only to provide its service to us, under its own terms and privacy policy.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or if we believe in good faith that it’s needed to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud or security problems.

If Atomic Van is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that deal. If that happens, we’ll post a notice on the Site and update this policy before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

If you’re in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases:

  • Our legitimate interests in replying to you, keeping the Site secure, and understanding how it’s used in aggregate
  • Steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract, when you contact us about a project
  • Legal obligations, when the law requires us to keep or disclose information

How long we keep information

We keep contact form messages for up to two years after our last exchange with you, then delete them. That applies to our inbox and to the copy Formspree keeps in our account. If you become a client, we keep project correspondence for as long as we need it for that work and for our legal and accounting records.

Server logs kept by GitHub and aggregate analytics kept by Cloudflare are retained under those providers’ own policies.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct information that’s wrong
  • Ask us to delete your information
  • Object to or limit how we use it
  • Get a copy of your information in a portable format

To make a request, use our contact form and choose “Privacy request.” We’ll reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. We won’t treat you differently for using any of these rights.

If you’re in the EEA or UK and you think we’ve mishandled your information, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

The Site doesn’t track you across other websites, and our analytics don’t use cookies or identify individual visitors. Because of that, the Site works the same way whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. We don’t sell or share personal information for targeted advertising.

Children’s privacy

The Site isn’t meant for children under 13 (or the age of digital consent where you live), and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us information, let us know through our contact form and we’ll delete it.

The Site links to other websites, including Slidebit, Pingstack, and GitHub. We’re not responsible for how those sites handle your information, so please check their privacy policies.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you send through the Site. The Site is served only over HTTPS. Still, no method of sending or storing data over the internet is completely secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.

International visitors

We’re based in the United States. If you visit from somewhere else, the information you send may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices change or when the law requires it. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we’ll also note it on the Site.
